Public Computers
The library maintains public computers for patron use. Users must abide by the library’s Internet Use Policy.
- Each cardholder is entitled to 2.5 hours of computer use per day. The initial session offered is one hour.
- Guest passes are available for non-cardholders.
- A guest pass is good for 30 minutes of computer time in a single day.
Configuration
Adult Area – 10 public internet computers (Windows 10 and Windows 11), 1 restricted game station
Children’s Area – 2 public internet computers (Windows 10), 3 non-internet game stations (AWE).
4 Chromebooks for circulation outside the building to East Greenbush/Schodack residents.
All public computers in the library include Microsoft Office 2019 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), Adobe Reader, VLC Media Player, 7-Zip, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. One station is available withe Adobe Acrobat to edit PDF files. Desktop computer access is managed by PC Reservation and printing is managed by LPT:One. Security
For your security, a document may be saved temporarily to the computer/laptop, but will be automatically wiped when the session is over. You may email a document to yourself or a flash drive to save it more permanently. Antivirus is installed, and it may interfere with access to some websites. Programs may not be installed on library computers, and CD burning is disabled.
