Become A Trustee

Library Trustees play a vital role in guiding the mission, services, and future of the library while representing the interests of the community.

Trustee Commitment

Election to the Board of Trustees is a five-year commitment. Trustees attend monthly board meetings and serve on either the Administrative or Services Committee.

Committee Support

All Trustees are encouraged to participate in the Budget Committee, and may be asked to serve on ad hoc committees as needed to support special projects or initiatives.

Community Engagement

Trustees commit to regular visits to the library, occasional regional meetings, and ongoing conversations within the community to help strengthen awareness and support for the library.

Give Back To Your Community

Trustee eligibility requirements:

  • Positions are open to East Greenbush residents
  • Must obtain 25+ signatures from registered town of East Greenbush voters
  • Required documents must be submitted 30 days prior to library election

Candidate Information

Candidate packets are available the day after the June Board meeting. Dates and election details are posted on the library calendar, website, and within the library in early June.
