Where is a service animal allowed to be in the library?

They are allowed in all areas of the library where public are normally allowed to go.

Under what circumstances is a service animal not allowed to be in the library?
  • If they are impeding anyone’s progress into or out of the library (all exits must remain open)
  • If the service animal is out of control/being disruptive and the handler does not take effective action to control it (ex: repeated barking, sniffing, jumping, biting, growling, whining)
  • If the service animal behaves in a way that poses a direct threat to the health and safety of others, or has a history of such behavior
