Interior renovation work is now scheduled to begin on Monday, April 13.

This work is needed following water damage caused by the ice storm in late December. Using insurance proceeds, the Library will complete repairs and renovations in several areas of the building, including carpet replacement in the Main Library, Teen Room, Hurr Room, Children’s Room, and office areas.

Although the carpet in the Children’s Room was salvageable, it had already been scheduled for replacement next year. Because other work in that area was already expected to cause disruption, the Library expanded the project to replace the Children’s Room carpet at the same time. Completing the work together is more cost-effective and uses funds already set aside in the 2026 budget for capital repairs.

The Library will remain open during the project, but visitors should expect temporary service disruptions, rotating area closures, reduced seating, and occasional noise and dust.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these needed improvements.
