Summer reading officially kicks off on June 29th! This year’s theme is Unearth a Story. Readers of all ages (including adults!) can enjoy books and themed activities inspired by dinosaurs, archaeology, and the world beneath our feet, all while earning chances to win great prizes!

Registration begins on June 29th, and we have a fun day of activities planned at the library that day to celebrate:

10:30am – 11:30am: One Earth So Green and Round Music Show – Geared for ages 3 to 5, join us for an environmentally-themed puppet show and songfest exploring animals, ecology, and nature. Join the fun as stories and skits are improvised with “Kid Puppeteers.” Please register to attend.

1:00pm – 2:00pm: T-Rex Tea Party – Join us to kick off our Summer Reading Program with our T-Rex Tea Party! We will enjoy dinosaur shaped waffles, juice, and fun crafts. Keep an eye out for some dinosaurs wandering around! No registration necessary.

5:30pm – 7:30pm: Family Movie: Night at the Museum – Close out our Kick Off by watching Night at the Museum (rated PG, 108 minutes) and enjoying popcorn!

Fun activities for all ages continue throughout the summer, kicking off with a performance by Peaceful Country Band on Tuesday, June 30th at 6:00pm.
