The Great Migration Display Contest
Awarded to the Adult & Information Services team
A library display contest connected to the Great Migrations: A People on the Move invited public libraries to create exhibits exploring the history of the Great Migration — when approximately six million Black Americans moved from the South to northern and western cities.
Supported by local initiatives through WMHT, the contest encouraged displays that highlighted local connections, examined the migration’s lasting impact, and used creative materials to engage the community.
