Awarded by the Upper Hudson Library System (2022)
Serving as an elected library trustee for more than 30 years, most of that time in a board leadership role, Michael Poost has dedicated his time and talent to creating, maintaining, and ensuring the future of the East Greenbush Community Library.
From his work on the original creation of the library district, to lending his professional expertise to the design and construction of the library building, he has helped the library grow, quite literally from the ground up!
More recently, he has led the effort to responsibly manage library funds to allow the library to maintain the facility for future generations in the community. He has also been a leader in strategic planning, board recruitment, and mentorship of new library trustees.
The Upper Hudson Library System honors Michael Poost for his many years of dedicated service to help create the East Greenbush Community Library and ensure its sustainability far into the future.
